「Mother of All Bombs（MOAB）」と呼ばれる爆弾を、実際の映像のキャプチャを元に原寸大に引き伸ばした。

この爆弾は爆風で木々を伐採する爆弾「デイジーカッター」の後継として開発された爆弾である。「デイジーカッター」は大きな爆風によりきのこ雲を発生させ、威力に加えて核爆弾を思わせる精神的な攻撃として機能した。

後継の「MOAB」は、通常爆弾としては世界最大の大きさで、アメリカ軍が公開した映像では巨大なきのこ雲を発生させている。「デイジーカッター」で効果的だった精神攻撃を前面に押し出したコンセプトで製造されている。また、実験映像の公開や「Mother of All Bombs」というキャッチーな通称によって軍事力のプロモーションとしての機能も持つ。

Based on screen captures from actual footage, I enlarged the bomb known as the “Mother of All Bombs” (MOAB) to its actual size.

The MOAB was developed as the successor to the “Daisy Cutter,” a bomb designed to clear trees with its blast. The Daisy Cutter produced a mushroom cloud with its enormous blast, functioning not only as a powerful weapon but also as a psychological attack that evoked a nuclear bomb.

Its successor, the MOAB, is the largest conventional bomb in the world, and footage released by the U.S. military shows it producing a giant mushroom cloud. It was built around a concept that put the psychological effect proven by the Daisy Cutter front and center. Through the release of test footage and its catchy nickname, “Mother of All Bombs,” it also serves as a promotion of military power.
